Program Officer Positions Open at the Fetzer Institute

Tom Callanan wanted me to share with the network that there are two Program Officer positions open at the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan. One in the Communications and Outreach area and one in the Individual and Community Transformation (ICT) area.

According to Tom, they don’t have anyone pre-identified for either position, and they’re looking for people who are aligned with their mission but who will also add new perspectives to their work. Although they imagine filling the position with someone in the first half of their career, they haven’t counted out senior-level candidates. Both positions require a Kalamazoo location.

All inquiries and questions should be directed toward the Director of Human Resources. Details below.

The Fetzer Institute invites applications for two Program Officer positions:

– Program Officer-Communication & Outreach (www.fetzer.org/PDF/Emp_CO_Pos_Announcement.pdf)
– Program Officer-Individual & Community Transformation (www.fetzer.org/PDF/Emp_ICT_Position_Announcement.pdf)

Program Officers help develop, manage, and evaluate Institute projects and programs in support of their designated areas of focus.

The Program Officer working in the Communication & Outreach area will possess a bachelor’s degree and five to seven years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, community outreach, or related fields as well as extensive experience with digital media and the Web 2.0 environment.

The Program Officer working in the Individual & Community Transformation area will possess a bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) in combination with experience in fields as varied as education, law, conflict transformation, international development, philanthropy, community building, business, or public policy and decision making.

Please see the position announcements for detailed descriptions of qualifications, core responsibilities, and how to apply or visit www.fetzer.org/Employment.aspx.

Because we value the strength diversity brings to the workplace, the Fetzer Institute is committed to the recruitment, retention, and development of a workforce that reflects the society in which we live. We encourage applications from candidates representing diverse backgrounds.
