More reasons to join us at NCDD Seattle this October!

Still on the fence about whether or not you’ll be joining us in Seattle this Oct 12-14 for the 2012 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation?

I think you’ll decide to join us when you check out the following…

1.  See who’s registered so far — it’s an amazing group of leaders and innovators in our field!  I’ve activated the “show registrants” function on Eventbrite, so you can see the list of who’s registered at this point at http://ncddseattle.eventbrite.com/

2.  Look over the list of workshops (and workshop presenters) at www.ncdd.org/events/ncdd2012/workshops.  I think you’ll agree that the sessions cover many of the most important and interesting challenges and programs in our field — and the presenters are an extraordinary mix of leading practitioners, academics and activists in public engagement, bridge-building, and community problem-solving.

3.  Check out the conference program at www.ncdd.org/events/ncdd2012/program.  You’ll see that we’re featuring exciting speakers during our plenary sessions — NY Times notable author Eric Liu, AmericaSpeaks founder and new NICD director Carolyn Lukensmeyer, Everyday Democracy director Martha McCoy, Penn State’s John Gastil (who will also be serving as our conference Emcee!) and the Davenport Institute’s Pete Peterson.  You’ll also see that we’re balancing front-of-the-room activities with highly interactive activities of course, that we’re bringing back our popular “D&D Showcase” event, and that conference attendees are starting to self-organize some very cool activities on the afternoon and evening before the conference.

4.  See who’s supporting the conference through their sponsorship at www.ncdd.org/events/ncdd2012/oursponsors. We’ve been blown away by the support shown for NCDD Seattle by leading organizations in our field.  We have 25 sponsors and partners so far and the list keeps growing!  All of these groups will have a presence at the conference and are looking forward to seeing you there.

If you haven’t registered yet, please do so asap!  Here’s another incentive to get yourself registered:  the next 20 people who use this link to register will save $100 on the regular registration rate (paying just $350 to register). Just choose “1” beside Regular Registration and proceed with registration–the discount code is already applied when you use this link.

Email me at sandy@ncdd.org if you have any questions at all about the conference.  We can arrange discounts for people bringing groups to the conference, I can send you templates for publicizing the conference if you’re interested in helping with outreach, I can let you know how you can use the conference to let people know about your organization’s work, we can talk about your ideas for self-organizing a pre-conference activity…  Just feel free to email me again if I don’t get back to you right away — there’s a lot of email coming in these days!

Oh, and if you need any other details on the event, check at www.ncdd.org/events.  We have a nice FAQ page with lots of details, instructions for reserving your room at the Hyatt at Olive 8 at the group rate, a Seattle logistics page, info about the schedule and workshops, links to more info on our speakers, and more.

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Seattle!!
