It’s time to register for the 2012 NCDD conference in Seattle!

Just wanted to take a moment to remind you that today is the last day to register for the 2012 NCDD conference (Oct 12-14 in Seattle) at the regular rate — and the last day to reserve your room at the hotel at the NCDD group rate!

The 2012 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation is shaping up to be an extraordinary event — and if your work involves public engagement, conflict resolution, or community problem solving, you’re not going to want to miss it.  Here are a few headlines…

  1. In conjunction with NCDD Seattle and to honor our 10th anniversary, we’re running the NCDD Catalyst Awards program — two $10,000 awards for collaborative projects that launch our field forward in two areas:  civic infrastructure and political bridge building. Groups will form and hone their ideas at the conference and online. More on this at www.ncdd.org/catalyst-awards.
  2. Hundreds of the most active, thoughtful, and influential people in our field will be joining us in Seattle!  See who’s registered at www.ncddseattle.eventbrite.com/ (just be sure to click on “show more” to see everybody).
  3. Our featured speakers include Guiding Lights Network founder Eric Liu, AmericaSpeaks founder and National Institute for Civil Discourse director Carolyn Lukensmeyer, Everyday Democracy director Martha McCoy, Davenport Institute (Pepperdine Univ) director Pete Peterson, and Penn State’s John Gastil (also our Emcee!).  More on them at www.ncdd.org/events/ncdd2012/speakers.
  4. Our workshops and presenters are extraordinary.  You’ll learn from (and with) the best and brightest in our field on topics like: talking across partisan divides, journalism’s role in public engagement, online civic dialogue, innovations in restorative justice, handling groups that try to discredit/derail public forums, and much more. See the full list at www.ncdd.org/events/ncdd2012/workshops.

Here’s a link that saves you $100 on the registration rate — but I advise you use it today before the late fee goes into effect at midnight tonight to get the lowest rate possible: http://ncddseattle.eventbrite.com/?discount=100-off-reg

You can learn more about the conference and our past events at www.ncdd.org/events. And be sure to reserve your room at the conference hotel today at https://resweb.passkey.com/go/NCDD to get the group rate. Feel free to contact me at sandy@ncdd.org or 717-243-5144 if you have questions about the conference.

NCDD Seattle will be the 5th National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation, and we’re celebrating 10 years of building community among leaders, innovators and up-and-comers in dialogue, deliberation, and public engagement.  I really hope you’re able to join us for this celebration!
