Send Us Your D&D Stories!

We all know the power that stories hold to inspire people and help them understand complicated concepts (among other things). Many of us have talked about how we need to do a better job sharing our stories in this field, so that more people can understand why dialogue and deliberation are so important – and so desperately needed today. Please think about what stories you can tell about your work in this field. I’m working with Matt Leighninger (Director of the Deliberative Democracy Consortium) to collect […] (continue)

Discounts for NCDD Members on Some Great Trainings!

As you may know, NCDD is switching from a totally free membership to a paid membership (with a pay-what-you-can/free option). One of the ways we’re trying to ease this tricky transition is by providing some great benefits for fully paid NCDD members – including discounts for a whole bunch of great trainings and courses. NCDD members who pay the full membership fee can take advantage of discounted rates (mostly 20%) for the following upcoming trainings: The Center for Strategic Facilitation’s Group Facilitation Methods Course – April […] (continue)

This is the H1 Heading Above this paragraph should be the H1 heading for your web page. If it is not visible, the design settings for the H1 tag is set to display:none which many WordPress Themes use to hide the blog title text and replace it with a graphic. Do not use H1 within your blog post area. If the design in the H1 heading looks like your blog title or blog post title, then that is the style set for that HTML tag […] (continue)

An Appeal to all Members of the D&D Community

If you are based in the U.S., I’d like to ask for your help with an important project. The vast majority of members of congress are not aware of the expertise and skill our community has to offer. They do not know how to tap into the dialogue and deliberation community to serve the purposes of good government – or even that there is such a community.  One project spearheaded by NCDD members Kim and Barnett Pearce aims to begin to change this. If you’re […] (continue)

Special Offer for NCDD Members

Last Monday (Jan. 15th), I sent a message out to all NCDD members announcing that NCDD is transitioning from a free membership structure to a paid membership structure (with a pay-what-you-can option).  We are giving free copies of the newly-released 2nd edition of The Change Handbook to the first 200 members to pay the full annual fee (it’s not too bad – only $50 for individuals or $100 for organizations). The checks have been pouring in, which is wonderful, but we still have plenty of […] (continue)
