National Association for Multicultural Educators

The Founders of NAME envisioned an organization that would bring together individuals and groups with an interest in multicultural education from all levels of education, different academic disciplines and from diverse educational institutions and occupations. NAME today is an active, growing organization, with members from throughout the United States and several other countries. (continue)

Posse Foundation

The Posse Foundation identifies, recruits and trains student leaders from public high schools to form multicultural teams called 'Posses.' These teams are then prepared, through an intensive eight-month Pre-Collegiate Training Program, for enrollment at top-tier universities nationwide to pursue their academics and to help promote cross-cultural communication on campus. As Tatum sees it, blacks must secure a racial identity free of negative stereotypes. Methodology for Interracial Dialogue: Dialogue/Action Circles on Racism in the Baltimore Region

This evaluation consists of two phases. In the first phase, stakeholders' perceptions of the goals for the dialogue/action circles are examined, through individual and focus group interviews with circle stakeholders. In the second phase, the short-term impacts of the circles are examined in terms of some of the goals identified in phase one. (continue)
