Scholarships still available for 2012 NCDD conference in Seattle!

Due to the generosity of the NCDD community during our summer fund drive, we still have some scholarship funds available to help people attend next month’s National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation in Seattle.  We’re particularly interested in helping people who are traditionally underrepresented in our field to attend:  young people, people of color, conservatives and public servants.  At this late date, we imagine that most of our scholarship funds will help people from the Puget Sound region to attend.

Will you help us spread the word about this opportunity to people you think would be an asset at the conference?

As long as scholarship funds last, we will do our best to help everyone who needs it with a discount on registration — but folks in the groups above will receive bigger discounts if they apply for support.  Apply for a full or partial scholarship today at www.surveymonkey.com/s/NCDD2012-scholarship-app while funds remain.  Scholarships cannot be applied to existing registrations.

So far, we have nearly 40 people receiving scholarships, and about 350 people registered altogether.  We have funding for about 10 more full scholarships, or 15 to 20 more partial scholarships!  Though you can still just register at the $350 rate (rather reasonable for a national conference, I’d say!) using the discount link we’ve been sharing widely (http://ncddseattle.eventbrite.com/?discount=100-off-reg), we know this is still a challenge for some folks and want to help make sure they can attend NCDD Seattle.

Feel free to contact me directly at sandy@ncdd.org if you have questions about scholarships.

The 2012 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation is shaping up to be an extraordinary event — and if your work involves public engagement, conflict resolution, or community problem solving, you’re not going to want to miss it. NCDD Seattle will be the 5th National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation, and we’re celebrating 10 years of building community among leaders, innovators and up-and-comers in dialogue, deliberation, and public engagement.  Keep an eye on the “NCDD2012” tag in our blog for the latest updates: www.ncdd.org/tag/ncdd2012.
