DD&PE Certificate Program News: Next info call coming up next Weds
NCDD is the Core Collaborator of the highly regarded Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement Certificate Program (DDP&E for short). The certificate program is now hosted by Kansas State University, and the first course launches next month!
We wanted to alert the NCDD community to an opportunity to learn more about the program next Wednesday at 5pm Eastern on an conference call with program leaders. You can sign up here to participate in the call.
I have heard nothing but great things about this program, which is why NCDD is supporting it. If you are looking to professionalize your practice and gain credentials in this work, we highly recommend you look into participating in these courses and earning your certificate.
Here’s what NCDD Board member Diane Miller (president of Civic Collaboration) says about her experience in the certificate course:
DDPE was one of the most valuable professional development programs I have experienced, and it was pivotal in grounding my work as I launched my own business as an engagement practitioner. The faculty created an incredibly rich learning environment that brought together the best thinkers and most innovative approaches to public engagement and group process. The relationships formed with my classmates were incredibly rewarding and have provided me with a vibrant peer network and ongoing learning community.
And NCDD member Amanda Itliong added this comment to a previous blog post about the course:
I loved the DDPE program and I would highly recommend it to everyone! It added depth to my work and has made it so that instead of depending on a few different approaches to dialogue and deliberation like many of us do, I can now sort through an entire toolbox of methods and approaches. Before I started the program I knew this work was important because of great experiences I have had, but I couldn’t completely articulate why everyone else should care. Now I have the academic case to back up my work as well! Do it!
