Early Registration for SoL's Global Forum Ends Soon

C. Sherry Immediato, managing director of the Society for Organizational Learning (solonline.org), has just sent us a message from her sabbatical in India to ask us to remind everyone that early registration for the 3rd SoL Global Forum will end on January 31st. Its a great opportunity to save a considerable amount on travel costs. From her email…

Early registration discounts make it easier to travel to Oman – these end January 31, 2008.  Please visit http://www.solonline.org to download an up-to-date brochure and to register.  And if you’ve already registered, pass this message along encouraging other colleagues to join you.

Read more from her message about the upcoming event in Oman after the break.

In her email, Sherry went on to add…

On behalf of the Design Team, I’m pleased to report that the program is being finalized as those offered concurrent session opportunities confirm.  In addition, an impressive group of keynote speakers includes Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus, anthropologist Mary Catherine Bateson, author and consultant Adam Kahane and Peter Senge.  Each speaker will be joined by a panel of diverse colleagues including Nicanor Perlas, an inspiring hands-on leader in the field of cross-sector collaboration from the Philippines; Judith Flick, a social development leader and SoL/MIT ELIAS fellow working in Africa; and Suhair Alqurashi, Dean of the first private women college in Saudi Arabia.  Each panel will engage in a public dialogue into which we are all invited.

Each day will also include our own brand of open space labeled the learning “souq”, in addition to five sets of diverse, inspiring, provocative and practical concurrent sessions during the Forum.  In the Gulf, a souq is a marketplace and the Design Team was fortunate to explore a real souq on our visit to Oman in December.  We used our learnings from that experience to create what I’m sure will be a valuable and memorable meeting format that you will want to use in other settings.  We are delighted with the great variety of proposals received for both the concurrent sessions and the souq.  Details about these sessions will be posted on the Forum website as we receive confirmation from the hosts.

In addition, please note the great opportunities to experience Oman and the region in conjunction with your trip.  I know I plan to stay a few extra days to camp out in the desert under the stars!
