Fielding Announces 2nd "Dialogue, Deliberation & Public Engagement" Course

Fielding Graduate University just announced its second certificate course in Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement. Several NCDD members participated last year, and I heard some great things about the course. I’m hoping to participate this year myself, since this is a non-conference year. There is an information conference call about the course scheduled for May 11, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. This 16-week primarily online course begins on August 29. Click below for the full announcement.

It is being designed and delivered in collaboration with The International Institute for Sustained Dialogue and the Kettering Foundation. In addition to an outstanding core faculty of scholar-practitioners (Hal Saunders, Barnett Pearce, Phil Stewart, Keith Melville, Jan Elliott), it also features guests in Master Dialogues who are widely recognized as scholars and as innovative practitioners. This program combines scholarly understanding of different approaches to dialogue, deliberation, and public engagement with practical, hands-on applications and skills training. It is designed for mid-career professionals working in local communities as well as national and international organizations, in the public, private and not for profit sector. Fielding Graduate University is world renowned for its leadership in networked education for adult professionals. This networked approach consists of face-to-face sessions, online learning and phone dialogues. The 16-week course begins August 29, 2005.
