Democracy Lab Offers New Online Deliberation Opportunities

Democracy Lab has recently announced three new opportunities to incorporate online deliberation into your classroom. First, From June 29 to July 1, they’re holding a workshop on Using Deliberation in the High School Classroom in State College, PA. Inquire regarding online possibilities, including enrolling in the workshop for graduate credit, at demlab@lhup.edu. Second, it’s time to reserve space for your classes in Democracy Lab’s Fall 2005 online issues forums. Details are here. Third, Democracy Lab is now conducting a second round of Request for Proposals with funding for first-time partnerships and for continuation of existing partnerships –a July 1 deadline for 2005-2006 projects. Amy Lang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions at the University of British Columbia. She wrote her dissertation on British Columbia’s groundbreaking Citizens’ Assembly process, and is currently doing follow-up research on the Ontario Citizens’ Assembly.
