The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation (http://www.fcfox.org/) has opened its Request for Proposals for nonprofits in Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties, California, for education and youth programs, including youth dialogue and deliberation. Grant awards for program support typically range from $5,000 to $20,000 each. The foundation expects to award up to a total of $200,000 in grant funds this cycle.
The foundation seeks to partner with nonprofit organizations that improve and/or expand the scope of learning environments of children and youth, especially those from economically and socially disadvantaged families; promote positive and meaningful interactions among children, youth, and adults; actively involve parents, staff, and volunteers, and embrace ongoing professional development for those that deal directly with children and create their learning environments; and value and deliver organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and fiscal responsibility. . Special attention will be given to proposed projects that offer a high return on investment (e.g., an opportunity to create a synergistic effect on funding, increase the organization’s economic self-sufficiency, and/or a long-term benefit for organization), and demonstrate proven effectiveness with quantitative and qualitative data.Every applicant should carefully review the proposed request’s alignment with the foundation’s mission, values, and eligibilityrequirements. Full program details and application procedures are available at the foundation’s Web site. The deadline for applications is October 30, 2006 (Online Initial Application).
