Forum Foundation Projects

Just received an email from John Spady of the Forum Foundation, our key sponsor for this summer’s national conference and current spotlighted member, with some info about their current projects…

The Forum Foundation has contributed its new Fast Forum Opinionnaire® web application for distributed dialogue to the Municipal League Foundation in support if its Seattle-funded Civic Engagement Project that runs through July 2007. Soliciting partners from both the non-profit and for-profit communities, the project seeks to recreate relationships for social and civic interaction using distributed groups of people who meet together to talk about both community-wide and partner-narrow issues. An interview with John Spady about the Civic Engagement Project can be viewed using either the Real Player or Quicktime Player applications by clicking on this link (external .mov file).

The Forum Foundation is also working with Kathleen O’Connor, Founder and CEO of CodeBlueNow! (CBN), a national grassroots education and advocacy group committed to positive change in the U.S. health care system. CBN is also using the Fast Forum Opinionnaire® to gather non-partisan opinions from communities across Oregon about meaningful health care reform. This model is in the process of being extended to engage participants from all 50 states.

You can learn more about the Forum Foundation and its Fast Forum Opinionnaire® by visiting their website at http://forumfoundation.org/.
