A new national organization, that seeks to renew democracy by giving the citizenry a greater voice in government, is looking for two dynamic individuals to help grow a new broad-based organization and build support for its initiatives.
Executive Director
- Developing and implementing a fundraising campaign with major donors and foundations
- Conducting external relations to build support for the organization and its initiatives.
- Promoting legislation, including directly with policymakers
- Developing allies among other organizations and influential individuals
- Promoting media coverage and serving as organizational spokesperson
- Delivering public presentations
- Managing a small staff in Washington DC
Director of Online Fundraising and Advocacy
- Managing web-based operations
- Developing a major web-based grassroots fundraising and membership-building campaign
- Developing and motivating an activist corps
- Managing website and social networking activities
- Writing communications and appeals to supporters and potential supporters
- Maintaining relationships and outreach efforts to new media
- Overseeing technology functions and managing outside web consultants
Applicants for both positions should have substantial experience in campaigns and promoting public policy initiatives. Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial and hands-on with an attitude that no task is too small or too large. Strong verbal and writing skills essential and a commitment to the goal of renewing democracy are key.
