Positions Open — New Advocacy Organization for Giving Citizenry a Greater Voice

A new national organization, that seeks to renew democracy by giving the citizenry a greater voice in government, is looking for two dynamic individuals to help grow a new broad-based organization and build support for its initiatives.

Executive Director

  • Developing and implementing a fundraising campaign with major donors and foundations
  • Conducting external relations to build support for the organization and its initiatives.
  • Promoting legislation, including directly with policymakers
  • Developing allies among other organizations and influential individuals
  • Promoting media coverage and serving as organizational spokesperson
  • Delivering public presentations
  • Managing a small staff in Washington DC

Director of Online Fundraising and Advocacy

  • Managing web-based operations
  • Developing a major web-based grassroots fundraising and membership-building campaign
  • Developing and motivating an activist corps
  • Managing website and social networking activities
  • Writing communications and appeals to supporters and potential supporters
  • Maintaining relationships and outreach efforts to new media
  • Overseeing technology functions and managing outside web consultants

Applicants for both positions should have substantial experience in campaigns and promoting public policy initiatives. Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial and hands-on with an attitude that no task is too small or too large. Strong verbal and writing skills essential and a commitment to the goal of renewing democracy are key.
