WJCF Seeking Program Director of Conflict Resolution Education

The Western Justice Center Foundation is looking for a Program Director of Conflict Resolution Education. This position directs the work of the Western Justice Center Foundation (WJCF) a non-profit organization strives to create a more civil society through a process of engagement and education that will enable individuals and institutions to become partners in peace-building . The WJCF works with communities, courts, schools, and governments on a variety of programs. These WJCF programs fall into two areas: 1) Community Engagement 2) Conflict Resolution Education. The available position falls under the programmatic area of conflict resolution education. WJCF programs range from birth until high school in this area. WJCF clients include school districts, parent engagement programs and government and non profit coalitions.

Duties and Responsibilities include: 1) Maintaining contact with and address questions of the ten organizations that are part of the Healthy Families Cooperative focused on programs 0-5; 2) Developing a web-based clearinghouse for research and best practices in parenting and conflict resolution. 3) Assisting development of conflict resolution trainings for parents of children 0-5 years and staff of preschool and social service agencies; 4) Developing a systems design approach for clients in the area of conflict resolution education; 5) Working with existing staff to expand program; 6) Working with and identifying evaluators for WJCF programs; and 7) Presenting at conferences and symposia.

Required Knowledge and Skills include: 1) Masters level course work and experience in Early Childhood Education, Conflict Resolution, Social Welfare, or related field; 2) Experience in designing and maintaining clearinghouses of information; 3) Experience in developing trainings and delivering trainings or workshops; 4) Ability to supervise volunteer and other staff; 5) At least 3 years experience in the field of conflict resolution; 6) Substantive mediation experience of family based conflicts or youth based conflicts; 7) Ability to handle multiple projects at one time; 8) Commitment to WJCF’s operating principles; 9) Must be a self starter and able to be self motivated.

Salary: $45,000-$50,000 depending on experience. Benefits: Major medical, dental, 403-B pension plan, vacation and sick leave, major holidays. WJCF offers a competitive benefits package.
