A Note of Thanks and a Request

As many of us look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday this week, the NCDD Board of Directors wants to take this chance to give a special thanks to Sandy Heierbacher, Andy Fluke and Joy Garman for their tireless work which makes NCDD possible. Sandy’s vision and leadership since NCDD’s formation nearly a decade ago has created powerful avenues for practitioners in our field to come together, learn, collaborate and grow.

We also want to thank everyone who has acted on the Fall Membership Drive. NCDD serves as such a critical resource and a vibrant learning community. It is a wonderfully inclusive and diverse network and has truly filled a unique role in supporting this field of dialogic and deliberative civic engagement. In the words of one of NCDD’s founding members:

“By supporting the people who use innovative group processes for civic and organizational engagement, NCDD is better positioned than any organization I know to make a difference to our collective well-being.”

Peggy Holman, Author & Consultant, “Engaging Emergence, The Change Handbook”

We hope that, if you haven’t already, you’ll consider renewing or upgrading your NCDD membership, which is a way to not only express the value you find in NCDD today but to support this work for the years to come!

With gratitude for each of you and the important work you do,

Diane Miller on behalf of the NCDD Board of Directors
