admin – Welcome to NCDD! (org)

Hi, (first names).  Thank you for joining the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation as an organizational member!

It’s more important than ever that dialogue and deliberation processes, principles and practitioners are given every opportunity to flourish.  That’s what NCDD is all about, and we’re so glad ___ is involved.

Here are some things we suggest new members do:

1.  Participate in NCDD’s listservs, which continue to be NCDD members’ top choice when they need to connect with each other, share an announcement, or gather information or advice quickly.

Per your membership application, the following emails are now subscribed to the NCDD Discussion list:

This is NCDD’s most active listserv, and most members are subscribed. We encourage new subscribers to send an email to the list introducing yourself and sharing a little about your work.  If you’d like to encourage responses, consider also posing a question about a challenge you’re grappling with.  Send your email to NCDD-Discussion@lists.thataway.org.

(or, if they opted out of the Discussion list, replace the above 2 paragraphs with:

Per your instructions, I did not add you to the NCDD Discussion list.  This is NCDD’s most active listserv, and most members are subscribed.  The list offers an easy way to share news and start discussions with a large number of movers-and-shakers in the field, so we highly recommend someone from your organization subscribe.  Just let me know if you’d like someone added.

Also, feel free to look over NCDD’s other listservs at www.ncdd.org/listservs and see if there are other lists you or others at your organization would like to subscribe to.

2.  Search for yourself in the members directory at www.ncdd.org/directory and the member map at www.ncdd.org/map and let me know if any changes or additions should be made to your page.  Here is the direct link to your organization’s directory page:

Use the map and directory to connect with colleagues (new or old), see who else in NCDD lives in your city and state, find NCDDers in places you’re traveling to, and more.

Please let me know if organizational contacts or email addresses ever change, so I can keep your directory listings up to date. You can also email me anytime you’d like to update contact information, bios, social media links or other details.

3.  Look over the page at www.ncdd.org/benefits, which provides more ideas to help you get the most out of your membership.

We hope you enjoy and benefit from your membership in NCDD!  Please do not hesitate to email me anytime, especially if you have any membership-related questions or need to update your contact details.

Sandy Heierbacher, NCDD’s Director, is also happy to help you with any questions you may have about getting the most out of your membership.  If you’d like to set up a “new member” phone call with Sandy, send her an email at sandy@ncdd.org and suggest a few times that work for you over the next couple of weeks.  She’d love to learn more about your work and answer any questions you have about NCDD.

Warm regards,
Joy

  1. Joy – this message should be sent to all 3 contacts for new organizational members.

Here are the things you’ll need to customize each time:

    – typing all contacts first names after “hi”
    – replacing ___ with the organization’s name in the second paragraph
    – add the emails that are subscribed to the Discussion list
    – remove or change the text about the Discussion list, based on whether you’ve subscribed people or they’ve opted out
