Join a call Wednesday about the White House’s e-petitioning site
Back in October, Board member Lucas Cioffi asked NCDDers to share their feedback on We The People, the White House’s new e-petition site. Collaborating with AmericaSpeaks (the lead partner), IAP2USA, the Deliberative Democracy Consortium, and the Open Forum Foundation, we began collecting comments over at http://wethepeople.uservoice.com. Lucas served as NCDD’s main representative in this process.
Our partners are preparing a draft summary of all the input we’ve received, and you’re invited to join us for a conference call on Wednesday (February 1st) to discuss what we’ve heard, at 2pm Eastern / 11am Pacific. RSVP by emailing info@iap2usa.org, and you’ll be sent the dial-in information.
You can still add more ideas and votes at http://wethepeople.uservoice.com, to help identify top priorities for the White House’s e-petitioning process. My understanding is that the intended outcome of this process is a list of recommendations, which will be submitted to the White House in a joint statement next month.
