Looking for a few good NCDD bloggers

Are you interested in being an NCDD blogger? We’d like to build a small cadre of volunteer bloggers who are responsible for posting weekly on a specific aspect of dialogue and deliberation they’re passionate and informed about.

Perhaps you’re clued-in to what’s happening in online engagement, public deliberation, or race dialogue? Or maybe you’d provide a great inroad to the Appreciative Inquiry or World Cafe community — or keep NCDDers informed about what’s happening in participatory budgeting or public engagement on climate change?

We’re looking for people who can regularly write brief, friendly posts that share stories or timely announcements.  You can identify relevant, timely news to share on your topic — but we ask that you be open to posting about things we forward you periodically.

Our bloggers must:

  • Be at least somewhat comfortable with technology
  • Be members of NCDD
  • Be able to understand that NCDD is not a place for sharing partisan opinions or delving into specific issues like climate change or education reform, but a place to discuss how to encourage people with differing opinions to come together to productively delve into these issues
  • Be the type of person who genuinely wants to share resources, info and insights with others

Here are some of the benefits of being an NCDD blogger…

  • Increased name recognition within the dialogue & deliberation community (Authors’ names are featured right under their post title, and their photo and social media links appear at the bottom of all their post pages)
  • Hooking into an existing blog that reaches thousands
  • Getting comfortable with blog software and blogging (if this is new to you)
  • Having a good reason to stay up-to-date on an important area of D&D work

Email Sandy, NCDD’s director, if you’re interested in exploring this, at sandy [at] ncdd [dot] org.

There might be some interesting possibilities here.

We have some common friends at USIECR and a common interest in using technology to make processes more open, transparent and inclusive.

Although we’re not currently members of NCDD it appears that is probably easily addressed.

If you’d like to discuss further we sure would.
