Save the Date: 2nd Conference on Engaging the Other set for October

We just heard from our friend Steve Olweean, Director of the Common Bond Institute, that the second Engaging The Other Conference will take place this fall in Dearborn, Michigan. Save the date (October 25-28, 2007) for this international, multidisciplinary, multicultural conference examining concepts of “The Other” from a universal, cross-cultural perspective to promote wider public dialogue about images of “Us and Them.” The conference is sponsored by the Common Bond Institute and co-sponsored by HARMONY Institute for Psychotherapy and Counseling, and the International Humanistic Psychology Association.

According to Steve, the first in this new series of conferences was a great success, “certainly exceeding our expectations, with many products and collaborations growing from it. Based on the powerful response and activity this has generated, we’ve moved to establish it as an annual event. Next year’s conference may likely be in the San Francisco bay area, and we’ve also been invited to hold it in Costa Rica (where President Arias has offered to be the site host) and Israel in the coming years beyond that.” Learn more at www.cbiworld.org.
