Global Democracy Group Announces Software Give Away Program

The Institute for 21st Century Agoras is celebrating the life of Hasan Özbekhan with the launch of a Participatory Democracy Software program. Hasan Özbekhan was a distinguished international leader in participatory democracy. His role in establishing the Club of Rome in the 1970’s influenced a generation of peace and sustainability professionals.

Participatory Democracy Software is a sociotechnical tool that enables the practice of democracy. The Institute has received a gift of 1000 end user licenses for CogniScope I, the commercial-grade collaborative planning software used worldwide by the CWA ltd consulting group. The use of this tool has been extensively documented in the recently published book “How People Harness Their Collective Wisdom and Power to Construct the Future” (Information Age Press). The Institute will distribute the Participatory Democracy Software along with a user manual through its blog (www.blogora.net), and will support communities of practice through a users discussion page at this same site.
