Register for Hope for Peace Day!

Hope for Peace Day is coming up soon! On Saturday, May 19th, the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University is sponsoring a one-day event filled with workshops, seminars, and activities for the whole family. You can find out more about the day’s events and register at www.emu.edu/cjp/hopeforpeace. Workshop topics include: Forgiveness and reconciliation across religious divides, Influencing US foreign policy – the 3D Security Initiative, Coming to the table – Healing the historical trauma of slavery, Strategies for trauma awareness and resilience, Understanding conflict dynamics in congregations, What does justice require?, Interactive peacebuilding for kids, Aikido – A martial “art of peace” and more. A reduced registration fee of $25 for EMU faculty/staff/teens and $15 for their children covers three meals, as well as all conference materials and activities. Continuing education (CE) hours are available for an additional $10.

Sandy Heierbacher co-founded the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) with Andy Fluke in 2002, with the 60 volunteers and 50 organizations who worked together to plan NCDD’s first national conference.
