Performance and Community-Building Conference Set for October
Those of you interested in D & D and the Arts may be interested in attending the conference Performing the World 4: The Performance of Community and the Community of Performance (www.performingtheworld.org), coming up Friday, October 12 – Sunday, October 14, 2007 in Tarrytown, NY. The goal of Performing the World 4 is to recognize, celebrate and interrogate the growing global performance movement and its relationship to community building. The conference will explore the thousands of innovative performance projects taking place in urban centers, towns and villages the world over, and the researchers, theoreticians and analyzers of what all this ensemble creativity, improvisatory play and “stage-making” might mean for human development, the growth of communities and social change.

Fees are all-inclusive for the full weekend. Included are conference registration, two nights’ accommodations, all meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch, coffee breaks, snacks and a Saturday night party.For residents of the US, UK, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan: Fees range from $600 for individuals sharing a room, to $1075 for institutional representatives in a single room. Fees for residents of all other countries are $475.
