Travel & Lodging

The 2016 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation is over and we had an amazing time at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center in the Boston Metro Area, October 14-16!

Here is some information about travel and lodging that we thought might be useful.  Although the conference is over, we’re keeping this page up for a few weeks as an archive of information.

Reserve Your Room Today

The conference is taking place in Framingham, Massachusetts at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center. We’ve negotiated a great rate of $165/night for conference attendees. You can learn more about the hotel on their website here, but you must use this link to get the NCDD rate:

www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/NCDD2016

Note that the rate is only in effect until the end of the day on Friday, October 7th, so you’ll need to reserve your room before that to guarantee the $165 rate.

Coordinate to Share Rooms and Rides

Use the comment section of the blog post at www.ncdd.org/21690 to coordinate ride shares and find roommates!

Fly Into Boston Logan Airport

If you’re flying to the conference, you’ll want to fly into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

Driving Directions

The hotel’s address is 1657 Worcester Road. Framingham, MA 01701.  The hotel’s phone number, if you need it, is 508-879-7200.

The Sheraton is located 18 miles west of Boston and is convenient to highways in all directions.

If you rent a car from the airport,

  • Follow signs to Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West
  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 12, Framingham
  • Bear left after the toll booths, following signs to Marlborough, Route 9 West
  • Stay in the right lane as you merge onto Route 9 westbound
  • The hotel entrance is on your right

Driving directions from North, South, East and West of Framingham are posted on the hotel’s website at www.sheratonframingham.com/directions.  The Sheraton offers plenty of free parking and some limited shuttle options for the three-mile radius around the hotel, which you can learn more about by clicking here.

Taxi or Shuttle Service

Knight’s Airport Limousine Service offers a shuttle from the airport to the hotel for $50, but we’ve negotiated a $40 rate for anyone attending NCDD! To get the discounted rate, go to this special link and proceed with your reservation:

http://knightsairportlimo.hudsonltd.net/rwd?USERIDENTRY=NCDD&LOGON=GO

You can also call 1-800-822-5456 to make reservations (our group code is “ncdd”) or go to www.knightslimo.com/contact for full contact details for the service. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to pickup.

You can also take a taxi or Uber from the airport to the hotel, but expect to pay around $90 for a taxi ride.

Public Transportation From the Airport

Bus…

Your cheapest option is to take the Logan Framingham Express Bus. It runs every half hour on Fridays (and other weekdays), and every hour on the hour on Saturdays. It can be boarded at any terminal at Logan.

Tickets are purchased aboard the bus and are $12 one-way or $22 round trip. The trip takes 30-45 minutes and drops off at 11 Burr St. Extension in Framingham. From there it’s a 10 minute taxi or Uber ride to the hotel.

For returning to Logan Airport on Sunday, tickets are purchased at the terminal, and the bus runs every hour 6am to noon, and every half hour after that. The full schedule can be found here.

Train…

Another option, though we don’t recommend it unless you’re familiar with Boston’s T system… The MBTA Commuter Rail runs to Framingham. You take the Silver Line from any airport terminal to South Station (free and easy), and then the Commuter Rail (Framingham/Worcester Line) to the Framingham stop. Tickets are $9.25. Click on this link for a trip outline and pricing. Once at the stop, it’s a 10-minute taxi or Uber ride to the hotel.
