Center for Strategic Facilitation

CSF is a partnership of consultants experienced in training, facilitation and organizational development, who collaborate to expand the use of participatory approaches and methods by individuals, organizations and communities. CSF is affiliated with The Institute of Cultural Affairs, a leader over the past four decades in promoting lasting positive change in communities, nonprofit organizations and businesses. They utilize a distinct and proven approach developed by the ICA called the Technology of Participation (ToP), and offer a number of trainings on facilitative leadership and group facilitation methods.

What is ToP (Technology of Participation) and Why Is It Important?

We use time-tested methods called ToP. This world renowned approach enables strong participation in large as well as small groups and fosters an emphasis on common ground, reducing the polarization, conflicts and strife that often occur in group life.

This broadly applicable methodology was developed by The Institute of Cultural Affairs, a leader over the past four decades in promoting lasting positive change in organizations and communities.

How We Partner for Positive Change

We believe that the most effective, long lasting changes occur when those who implement change help decide what needs to happen. Figuring out who should participate and having creative ways to enable participation creates the foundation for effective results.
