Program on Negotiation Clearinghouse

Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation runs a clearinghouse which markets and distributes materials for teaching negotiation, mediation, and other forms of dispute resolution. The online catalog includes videotapes, books, curricular ideas, monographs, working papers, reports, and over 150 role-play simulations (role-plays are a hallmark of the teaching style at PON and were developed and tested by PON faculty and graduate students). Adventures in Peacemaking: A Conflict Resolution Guide for School-Age Programs

EMU's Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) was founded to further the personal and professional development of individuals as peacebuilders and to strengthen the peacebuilding capacities of the institutions they serve. The program is committed to supporting conflict transformation and peacebuilding efforts at all levels of society in situations of complex, protracted, violent or potentially violent, social conflict in the United States and abroad. CJP runs a Graduate Program in Conflict Transformation, a Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI), The Practice Institute (previously the Institute for Justice and Peacebuilding), and a Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Reslience (STAR) training. Drawing on intensive firsthand experience gained during the most successful years of Arab-Israeli peace negotiations, Harold Saunders explains the complexities of the peace process: it was not just a series of negotiated agreements but negotiation embedded in a larger political process. In the first edition of The Other Walls, Saunders argued persuasively that until leaders change the political environment by lowering the human and political barriers to peace, negotiators stand little chance.
